MY EGO Model

It is hard to find your ideal place in the industry. What fits your strengths? What is least influenced by your weaknesses? Where does your satisfaction get fed? To find out my professional characteristics, I made a Student Profile Analysis (SPA). According to my SPA, I am assertive, like to take a leading role in work, am friendly, adapt my behavior to other people, am patient, direct, independent,
good listener, sincere, thorough, genuinely concerned about other people, steady, and difficult to change my mind once it’s made up.

I have a IDS profile, that means that I am motivated by popularity, social recognition and the feeling that I have a fair amount of freedom to act.
Whilst opportunity for promotion may motivate me, it is also necessary for me to feel secure within the working environment.

This shows that I would likely crave a working environment where I feel like I can be creative and contribute, but also provides a fear amount of stability and therefore guidelines. Working together with others would probably trigger extra motivation for me. Therefore, working in a self-governing team within a company would suit me best.

For my specialization track in third year, I am planning to choose E-Tourism, as I am interested in innovation and e-marketing. Therefore, I think a position within a smaller Online Travel Agency (OTA) would suit me best. This gives me the option to both brainstorm about travel packages, satisfying my crave for recognition. Furthermore, I can also work within an online environment. Working within a company provides me with stability.
